Join our dynamic team as a Golf Course Cart/Equipment Assistant Mechanic at the entry level! In this energetic role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and repairing golf course carts and equipment, ensuring they operate smoothly and reliably for optimal course performance. Bobby Jones Golf Club is a Troon managed Golf Course owned by the City of Sarasota. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop hands-on mechanical skills, gain experience with various equipment systems, and contribute to a well-maintained, enjoyable golfing environment. No prior experience is necessary—just a passion for mechanics, a positive attitude, and a desire to learn!

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on golf carts and related equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting techniques.
  • Conduct repairs on engines, electrical systems, small engines, and mechanical components utilizing hand tools and power tools.
  • Assist with diesel engine repairs, generator repairs, and power generation systems maintenance as needed.
  • Support heavy lifting tasks and manual handling of equipment parts during repairs or maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of service work performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify repair needs promptly and ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
  • Dealership experience or service technician experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge with an understanding of electrical work, schematics, and electrical diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with automotive repair principles, small engine maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy objects safely.
  • Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Willingness to develop expertise in vehicle maintenance, mechanical systems repair, engine repair, and Caterpillar equipment (if applicable).
