Expires: May 30, 2026

An outstanding opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced turf professional to join the team at Maroochy River Golf Club, one of the Sunshine Coast’s premier golfing destinations.

Our 18-hole Graham Marsh-designed championship course is recognised for its presentation and playability—and we’re entering an exciting new phase. With a major capital works and course improvement program commencing in 2026, this role offers the rare chance to help shape the future of a growing, progressive facility.

If you're ready to step into a leadership role with real influence and career progression, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

As Assistant Superintendent, you’ll work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to lead day-to-day operations and deliver exceptional playing conditions year-round.

You’ll play a key role in:

  • Maintaining elite presentation standards across greens, tees, fairways and bunkers

  • Planning and executing agronomic programs (fertiliser, aeration, pest & disease management)

  • Leading, mentoring and coordinating the maintenance team

  • Managing irrigation systems (Rain Bird) and water use efficiency

  • Overseeing machinery operation and maintenance

  • Contributing to seasonal planning and continuous course improvement

  • Supporting the delivery of major capital works projects
What Sets This Role Apart

This is more than a maintenance role—it’s a career-building opportunity to:

  • Be directly involved in a major redevelopment project, including a fully floodlit 9-hole short course and new executive course

  • Work at a high-quality, championship-level facility

  • Live and work on the Sunshine Coast—one of Australia’s most desirable lifestyle locations
About You

We’re looking for someone who brings both technical expertise and leadership capability:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in golf course or sports turf management

  • Formal qualification in Sports Turf Management (Cert III, IV or Diploma)

  • Strong knowledge of warm-season turf management

  • Experience with irrigation systems (preferably Rain Bird) and agronomic planning

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team

  • High attention to detail and pride in course presentation
Strong communication and organisational skills
