Job Description
TGA Golf Academy is currently looking for a consistent, part-time coach to start Jan 15th in the Greater Long Beach and surrounding area. No specific golf certifications required (would simply be a plus), just a desire to positively impact children through golf (we train on our differentiated methods).
Who we are:
We operate a year-round Jr. Golf Program out of Bixby Village Golf Course in Long Beach (near CSULB) are in need of coaches for our daily group lessons. These are used to teach the fundamentals of golf along with progressive skills (mental & physical) to kids ages 4-14! Our system is TPI certified (Titleist Performance Institute)& we will train you in this system while on the job. As you grow as a coach within the system, you can earn higher pay rates for future sessions.

What you will be doing:
- working in a station-based instructional format focused on teaching a specific skill each week to groups coming each day.
- Each group consists of 4-6 students at most (small groups)
- For those students that are ready, coaches may take them on the course to practice skills
- Most importantly we need someone who is available Tuesday-Friday from roughly 3pm-530pm.
- Must be enthusiastic and love working with and teaching children (requirement)
- Ability to step out of your comfort zone and be a kid alongside the students
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to self-manage and be on time and be committed to the schedule given
- Experience working with, teaching, and/or coaching children
- Must be able carry and set up equipment (20-30lbs)
- Passion for physical fitness, children, and sports
- Previous Golf instruction experience is welcome but not necessarily required - just a passion for sports in general; TGA provides on the job curriculum training if needed.
- 90 minute classes/lessons ranging between 3pm and 6pm weekdays
- This job is perfect for people who have a passion for GOLF and love working with young kids. This position is ideal for part-time workers, retirees, high school & college students, stay at home moms, teachers and anyone else with a flexible schedule and passion for working with our next generation!
