The Volunteer Golf Coach supports The First Tee Lakeland by providing positive, engaging golf instruction while helping young participants develop golf skills and life skills. Coaches serve as mentors and role models who create a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment for participants of all skill levels. Volunteer Coaches help deliver The First Tee programming by teaching golf fundamentals, incorporating life skills into activities, encouraging positive behavior, and helping participants build confidence, perseverance, respect, and responsibility both on and off the golf course. Interest and experience in golf and a desire to positively impact the lives of young people. Ability to work effectively with children and youth in a group setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude. Ability to demonstrate or teach basic golf skills. Dependable and willing to commit to scheduled volunteer opportunities. Ability to follow The First Tee – Lakeland policies, procedures, and youth protection standards. Previous experience working with youth, coaching, or teaching preferred but not required. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while working with participants. Ability to participate in golf activities and demonstrations as appropriate. Ability to safely handle and transport golf equipment and program materials. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
