The Galt Country Club's Turf Maintenance Department is seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will play a vital role in ensuring the golf course's pristine condition and providing an exceptional experience for our members and guests.
Responsibilities:
This is a position geared towards university summer employment. Candidates are able to begin work following the completion of their programs and are expected to work until Labour Day.
Weekly schedule of Monday 6AM-2:15PM, Tuesday 6AM-2:15 PM, Wednesday 6AM-11AM, Thursday 6AM-2:15PM, Friday 6AM-11AM as well as either Saturday or Sunday 5:30AM-8:30AM.
Employees are expected to work 5:30AM-8:30AM holiday shifts.
Uniform
Employees are to provide CSA approved footwear and brown pants with an allowance for returning employees. The club will provide uniform shirts, rain suit, hard hat, ear protection, gloves, as well as any further required PPE.
Golfing Privileges
Employees have access to playing the golf course with a cart during non-peak playing times at the discretion of the Golf Shop Management team and are allowed to bring guests at an extra cost.
Inclement Weather
Work is completed in inclement weather up to a point and employees will be expected to work in cold, hot, rainy, frosty, or even snowy conditions. No work is completed with a potential of lightning. During weather extremes we may decide it's not safe or possible to work. You may be contacted prior to a shift with as much notice as possible changes to the work schedule. Shifts may be cancelled, shortened, or modified.

Responsibilities:
- Mowing greens, tees, fairways, approaches, and roughs, including the use of both ride-on and walking mowers.
- Changing hole locations daily
- Edging and trimming around bunkers, trees, and other course areas.
- Raking and leveling sand bunkers.
- High detail work including the trimming and edging cartpaths, sprinkler heads, yardage markers, and other course features.
- Planting and maintaining flowers, shrubs, and gardens around the course.
- Keeping landscape areas clean and aesthetically pleasing.
- Collecting and disposing of debris.
- Sodding and other landscaping work.
- Assisting in special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
- Other duties that arise because of seasons or weather.
- Previous experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate and maintain various landscaping equipment.
- Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
