Team Leader Golf and Sportsfields
We are looking for a dynamic Sportsturf specialist to lead and manage team members and contractors in the maintenance and construction of Councils 2 Golf Courses, 46 Sporting Fields and Leisure Facilities grounds, with a focus on quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
We are seeking a highly motivated, organised and professional leader to lead and manage the maintenance operations for Ringwood Golf, Dorset Golf, Sportsfields and Leisure Facilities Grounds.
Both Ringwood and Dorset Golf are highly regarded public golf courses that host in excess of 170,000 rounds of golf annually. Maroondah has a number of high quality Sportsfields such and Russel Lucas Oval that is hosts Premier League Cricket and was recently rated as the best local government Premier League Cricket ground.
The successful applicant will report to the Manager Maroondah Golf and Sportsfields, and will form and integral part of the Leisure department leadership structure.
This role will be responsible for over 150 hectares of turf surfaces, with a team of 19 staff looking after a wide range of sporting facilities throughout the municipality, the successful applicant will need to have:

- Experience in fostering a positive, empowering & participatory organisational team culture.
- Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and coaching a team in the achievement of organisational goals and objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in Turf Management or similar field.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding in contemporary turf management practices, turf renovation, golf course preparation, cricket wicket preparation and irrigation systems.
- Demonstrated experience in major Sportsturf construction.
- Sound understand of OHS and risk management principles
- Be highly organised and motivated
