Summary: The Senior Director Golf Ball Engineering & Technology will oversee, manage, and direct the Golf Ball Central Engineering functions including Advance Engineering & Technology, the Engineering & Technology Center, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs, Security, and Facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor all budgets staffing, and operating plans for the Central Engineering function including the Engineering & Technology Center.
  • Lead efforts to develop and implement advanced technologies to insure Acushnet's leadership in the golf ball business
    Develop and implement technologies that support new products, reduce cost, improve safety and quality, increase capacity, or advance the state of the art of golf ball making
  • Oversee the operation of the Golf Ball Technology Center
    Provide manufacturing with all new or replacement tooling on time
    Plan, construct, and install new golf ball manufacturing equipment as needed
    Outsource components as required to meet cost and delivery schedules
    Support R&D needs for new tooling in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that Acushnet Company remains up to date with all compliance rules and regulations
    Interface with federal, state, and local governmental agencies, and FO representative as needed
    Coordinate all efforts to ensure that all training and reporting is done completely and on time
    Ensure that Acushnet fully complies with all appropriate compliance rules and regulations.
  • Provide facilities support for Ball Plants, Custom, the Pack Center, Distribution and Headquarters
    Ensure compliance with all Life Safety requirements for all operations.
  • Provide engineering support for Golf Ball Manufacturing and Operations when plant engineering requires technical assistance
    Manage the Capital Budget for Golf Ball Manufacturing, Operations and R&D
    Ensure that BP 3 and BP 4 have common technologies and can produce urethane golf balls to common standards and specifications.
  • Manage the security functions for the Acushnet Company as needed.
Requirements:
  • BS (master's &/or MBA preferred) in Engineering Discipline.
  • 7+ years of sustained success in leading multi-discipline organizations with emphasis on engineering/technology/facilities functions
    7+ years of experience successfully managing budgets (Staffing, Capital, Operating Expense) Strong working knowledge of engineering, engineering services, regulatory compliance, facilities management, and capital budget administration and control
  • Proven ability to interface with people ranging from shop floor Associates to Senior Management, to Parent Company representatives, to governmental regulators.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement advanced technologies intended to reduce cost, improve safety or quality, increase capacity all intended to provide Acushnet Company with a competitive advantage
    Demonstrated ability to develop and meet timelines for projects and services.
  • Must be able to work in an environment that includes isocyanates.
