Introduction
Drake Golf Carts is a premium South African brand specialising in luxury, built-to-order electric golf carts and Low Speed Electric Vehicles (LSEVs). Founded by passionate golfers, we hand-assemble high-quality vehicles for private estates, golf courses, luxury resorts, and commercial clients.

We are entering an exciting growth phase with plans to expand our branch network, grow our product range, and advance our electric drivetrain technology. To support this growth, we are looking for an experienced A-player Operations Manager to drive operational excellence across production, servicing, inventory, dispatch, and after-sales.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on optimising processes, leading teams, ensuring quality, and delivering results in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial manufacturing and service environment.
Key Responsibilities
As Operations Manager at Drake Golf Carts, you’ll oversee daily operations across production, service & workshop, inventory/stores, dispatch, and aftersales support. You will lead teams, optimise processes, ensure quality and compliance, and play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s growth and customer satisfaction.

This is a hands-on, high-responsibility leadership role for someone who excels in managing multiple departments in a manufacturing/service environment.

  • Manage and oversee daily business operations across production, servicing, stores, and dispatch.
  • Oversee the production team responsible for assembly and preparation of new golf carts, ensuring schedules and quality standards are met.
  • Supervise the servicing team handling maintenance, repairs, and aftersales support.
  • Manage inventory and stores operations, including stock control, procurement coordination, and accurate inventory levels.
  • Plan and coordinate dispatch, logistics, and delivery of golf carts to customers.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop production, service, and stores teams, including performance management and training.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and promote safe working practices.
  • Monitor operational costs, prepare reports, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of proven experience in operations management, ideally in manufacturing, assembly, automotive, workshop, or similar industry (experience is a key requirement).
  • Bachelors Degree relevant to the role preferred.
  • Strong leadership experience managing production, service, and/or stores teams.
  • Solid background in production planning, inventory management, quality control, and logistics.
  • Knowledge of occupational health & safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Results-driven with a focus on efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle required.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and able to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
What We Offer (Package & Benefits)
  • Gross monthly salary: R50,000 (no additional benefits)
  • The opportunity to make a significant and visible impact in a growing, premium brand within the luxury golf cart and LSEV market
  • Hands-on involvement in supporting the company’s expansion — including new branches, increased production volumes, and the rollout of new electric vehicle models
  • Work with a small, supportive, and entrepreneurial team where your contributions directly influence day-to-day success and long-term growth
  • Permanent contract following successful completion of a 6-month probation period
