Description

This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more.

We are seeking a knowledgeable, organized, and hands-on Operations Manager to join our growing Golf & Special Events team. In this position, you will play a critical role in the success of our business by assisting in the preliminary planning, onsite execution, and end of tournament conclusions for each golf tournament throughout the year. This position requires travel, knowledge of catering/buffet equipment and operations, and experience in high volume Sports & Entertainment catering.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRE-EVENT
  • Frequently attend interdepartmental meetings to fully understand upcoming event expectations including menus, event logistics, equipment needs, and event execution timeline.
    • Tournaments can be as large as 100 premium locations with 4 service times per day and 15 concessions locations
  • Assist with the preparation of organizational documents - equipment distribution, pull sheets by venue, prep tent layout planning, and dry product distribution
  • Assist with the purchasing of items in accordance with the BEOs and communicating deliveries to appropriate parties.
  • Help facilitate planning and requests with vendors such as water, gas, electrical, portable services, transportation, equipment, and deliveries.
  • Assist the Director of Golf Operations as instructed
  • This position will travel to the event location about 2-3 weeks prior to the event start.
EVENT DAYS
  • Set prep areas to maximize efficiency and functionality in each venue
    • This includes setting up kitchen equipment, hauling coolers, distributing product based on pull sheets, moving tables, and organizing boxes.
  • Work with the on-site electricians to ensure each venue has power in the prep tents and service areas
  • Leading the hourly operations team to complete equipment/product distributions and overseeing any updates on the pack sheets and distribution charts
  • Be a managerial presence and communicator to all hourly staff including the operations, premium hospitality, and concessions teams.
  • Conduct daily walks of prep areas and storage locations to ensure safety and sanitation guidelines are carried out effectively and all equipment and product are in place
  • Assist with communication between the culinary and operations teams regarding food distribution timelines, shortages, and specialty needs.
  • Be global support across the golf course in regards to any operational questions and issues that may arise
POST-EVENT
  • Oversee pack and clean up - ensure all hourly leads are informed and confident in the pack up of their area. Provide clear instruction on how to pack equipment and what will be returned and reused for upcoming events.
  • Lead the operations team in strategically packing the semi-trucks for the next event
  • Assist with processing invoices, paying vendors
  • Manage the operational communications of often coinciding events
  • This role will typically stay 3-5 days post event.
Performs other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of high-volume hospitality and/or Stadium Food & Beverage experience needed
    • Experience in special events, traveling concerts, or live events is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Catering Operations
  • Maintain a valid driver's license is preferred, this position will operate a golf cart often.
  • Ability to travel domestically throughout the year
    • Typical trips range approximately from 15-40 days at a time

Work Environment

This position is navigating a golf course usually via golf cart. Often moving in and out of temporary tent structures, semi-truck trailers, and container offices. There may be stairs, bumps, dips, and snags on the floor or within the structures. This role is client facing and behind the scenes and is often communicating with a variety of people. This role will be standing, walking, performing kitchen duties, and carrying equipment and/or food products often.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to communicate through radios/walkie talkies
  • Ability to travel domestically throughout the year
  • Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, moving, carrying, and lifting equipment throughout the venue, up stairs, and in and out of semi trucks
    • Equipment will range in weight, but can be up to 50 lbs
