The Company

The IPPY, Ipswich Sports Club / Ipswich City Golf, is now seeking applications for an experienced Venue Manager.

This full-time salary position requires the applicant to have a sound knowledge of management operations and the availability to work across weekdays and nights, weekends, and public holidays in a full-time capacity. We are looking for a dedicated and service focused Venue Manager, who has relevant experience and a background in Food and Beverage operations, along with staff management.

The Role

To be successful in your application you will need to possess the following knowledge, skills and attributes:

  • Attend to the day to day management and assist in all aspects of the business.

  • Have a full understanding of costings for all departments and KPIs which aligns with core objectives of the business in achieving profitability.

  • Ensure all marketing and promotional strategies are implemented and maintained.

  • Continually look for and test new concepts that will increase visitation.

  • Manage and work on current and long range plans and objectives and provide analysis of their progress.

  • Full accountability for all Management with regards to reporting, KPI’s and team management.

  • Preparation and submission of various weekly, monthly and yearly reports.

  • Provide hands on support to all departments across a 7-day work roster.

  • Manage and monitor revenue streams and purchasing ensuring they remain within budgetary expectations.

  • Drive profitability and continually aim to reduce operating expenses and gain more efficiencies from them.

  • Create a positive culture where all team members support company expectations, policies, and procedures.

  • Conduct probationary performance and development reviews.

  • Manage all contracts and services associated with the physical aspects of the operations.

  • All legal requirements are observed and managed in a practical and commercial matter.

  • Ability to conceive, develop, implement and monitor business strategies and plans across all business units.

  • Proactive leadership style that encourages staff participation, effort and buy-in and who can lead people, resources and projects.

  • Proven experience in supporting business growth and managing risks.

  • Confident dealing with financial figures, budgets and interpreting reports.

  • Analytical skills in strategic thinking, diplomacy and negotiation.

  • A passion for the Hospitality industry and a flair for functions and events.

  • Superior time management and communication skills.

  • Willing to learn all aspects of running a Golf Club or a passion for golf.

  • Own reliable transport.

  • 7 day/night availability.

  • Full working rights within Australia.
