Positioned within a popular regional tourism destination in the Southern Highlands and South Coast region, the retreat's dining venues deliver premium restaurant-style dining tailored to overnight guests, golf visitors, wedding and event parties, regional tourists, and the local Kangaroo Valley community. The venues operate in a fast-paced hospitality environment that requires strong operational oversight, efficient staff coordination, and consistent customer service standards to maintain daily trading performance and uphold the business's established reputation within the regional hospitality market. Within this operating environment, the position of Full-Time Restaurant Manager is operationally essential to the ongoing success and growth of the business. The role is responsible for overseeing operations across The Woolshed Restaurant and Osteria La Vallata, supervising front-of-house staff, coordinating service delivery and functions, managing rostering and workflow efficiency, monitoring stock control and customer satisfaction outcomes, and supporting the broader operational objectives across the retreat's dining venues. As part of its continued growth strategy, Sopho Pty Ltd is seeking to appoint a skilled and experienced Restaurant Manager in a permanent full-time position. The role offers a salary range of AUD $75,000 to AUD $80,000 per annum plus superannuation, commensurate with the successful candidate's skills, qualifications, and industry experience. Job tasks and responsibilities: - Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House operations across The Woolshed Restaurant and Osteria La Vallata - Deliver superior service and maximise satisfaction for accommodation guests, golf visitors, wedding parties, and the local community - Control operational costs and identify measures to meet budget across both dining venues - Undertake all aspects of staff management, including staff rosters for front-of-house teams - Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices specific to restaurant, function, and wedding service - Ability to estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils and cleaning products across the retreat's dining operations - Be committed to exceeding guest expectations across dining, functions, and special events - Ensuring all staff are adhering to approved work practices and guidelines - Ability to work closely with the Head Chef to create a team dynamic between BOH and FOH at both venues - Ability to develop and implement seasonal menus with the Senior Chef team, including Osteria La Vallata's Italian-inspired offering - Working knowledge of OH&S/WH&S - Review and prepare reports for senior management on sales, staffing and service performance - Drive to succeed and grow within the retreat's hospitality operations To be considered for this role, you should: - Be willing to relocate to Kangaroo Valley, NSW or nearby regional areas. - Be available to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and split shifts. - Hold a relevant Diploma qualification and have at least 3 years' experience in restaurant or hospitality management. - Hold a current NSW RSA certificate. - Demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to manage guest relations effectively. - Possess excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills to supervise staff and maintain service standards.
