Cairns Golf Club has an exciting opportunity to join the Golf course Maintenance team and begin an Apprenticeship in Sports Turf Management

Established in 1923, Cairns Golf Club is a 6159m, 18-hole par 72 course with a modern clubhouse, fully stocked Pro shop, two practice greens and a full-length driving range. Your training and employment will include:

• Preparation and maintenance of Golf course and landscaped surrounds
• Application of fertilizers and pesticides
• Turf nutrition programs
• Pest and disease management
• Irrigation systems installation and maintenance
• Machinery maintenance and log-book recording
• Safety protocols and equipment operation
• Attend training to complete your Certificate III in Sports Turf Management trade qualification

The successful candidate will have:

• A genuine passion and interest in Golf & Turf Management
• Reliability and commitment to complete all requirements of a Certificate III qualification
• Willingness to follow directions, learn & ask questions
• The ability to work outdoors in all-weather events
• Work well with others in a team environment
• Show attention to detail & take pride in your work
• Positive & friendly attitude
• Availability to work a rotating roster including weekends

The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated Turf Management staff in a fast-paced, fun & rewarding work environment, presenting and maintaining an 18-hole golf course and surrounds with on-job training including Cert 3 in Sports Turf Management being provided.
