SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Maintenance II - Chemical position, under the supervision of the golf course Foreman, performs chemical applications on golf course properties; fertilizes tees, greens and fairways; and applies chemicals on areas of the golf course, including but not limited to, greens, tees and fairways. The chemical technician is responsible for reading, understanding and keeping current with chemical labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). This position is also responsible for compiling preliminary reports of pesticide usage for the golf course Foreman.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week. Season runs approximately April/May 2024 - September/October 2024.
Offer of employment will be contingent upon successful background check.
Rate of pay will depend on qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs routine inspection on all spraying equipment.
- Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with county, state, and federal regulations, and is responsible for the safety and direction of chemical handlers and/or helpers.
- Records all applications and tracks chemical inventory.
- Cleans, tests, properly calibrates and prepares all spray application equipment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minnesota non-commercial pesticide applicators license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire date.
- Valid MN Drivers License and excellent driving record.
- Must have the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend and grip.
- Must enjoy working outside in all kinds of weather.
- Degree in Turfgrass Management or closely related field.
- Current MN non-commercial pesticide applicator license.
- Experience in fertilizer or pesticide applications.
- Prior golf course experience.
