Lead Assistant Golf Professional
Founded in 1883, the Capital City Club is among the premier private clubs in the South. The Club has a rich history in support of golf for its members, as well as local, state, and national golf associations; having recently hosted the 2013 NCAA D-I Men's Golf Championships and being named the host club for the 2016 Georgia State Amateur Championship, the 2017 USGA Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship, and the 2021 ACC Conference Championship. The Club has 2,600 members within all membership classifications and 1,989 golf members with registered handicaps. There are three distinct club facilities; a City Club in downtown Atlanta, a fine dining and catering venue; Brookhaven, a multiple use facility with a championship 18-hole golf course, 3,600 square foot golf shop, 11 tennis courts, fitness center, swimming pool, and extensive food and beverage operations; and Crabapple, with a championship 18-hole golf course, 1,800 square foot golf shop and clubhouse. Capital City is open year-round and hosts a full calendar of club, golf, tennis, and holiday events.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Capital City Club is seeking a PGA Member or Apprentice for the position of Assistant Golf Professional. The selected candidate will work closely with the Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional, Lead Assistant Professional, Director of Instruction, and Director of Retail, as well as two other Assistant Golf Professionals to ensure the highest level of service to the Capital City membership and their guests. A successful candidate will be partially responsible for all aspects of the daily golf operation, an extensive tournament program, merchandising, and junior golf instruction.
The Assistant Golf Professional will be an integral part of the Golf Operations team and report to the Head Golf Professional.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide exemplary service to both members and guests of the Capital City Club. Have a service-minded attitude
- Provide quality instruction to members. Assist in Junior and Lady's Clinics upon request
- Serve as an ambassador of the club by tirelessly promoting, serving, and representing the Capital City Club and understanding the importance of both the golf operation and the club as a whole
- Assist the Head Professional and Lead Assistant Professional in the management and execution of an extensive tournament schedule
- Assist the Head Professional and Lead Assistant Professional with the day-to-day management of the golf operation.
- Assist the Head Professional in the coordination of the merchandise operation, working closely with the Director of Retail and merchandise coordinator
- Assist in the training, supervision, and mentoring of the Outside Service Staff/Interns
- Maintain a high-level playing ability, playing not only with the membership, but also in Georgia Section events
- Class A PGA/LPGA member or Apprentice in good standing
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- Minimum of two years’ work experience as a Class A Professional or Apprentice at a high-end private or resort facility
- Strong club fitting and teaching background
- Competitive collegiate or tournament playing record
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with a dynamic personality
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel, GolfGenius, ForeTees, POS systems, as well as V1 or other teaching systems
- Strong work ethic and detail oriented
- Present a professional image and appearance at all times
- Exceptional communicator, both verbal and written
- Willingness to learn and grow both personally and professionally, with aspirations to become a Head Professional
