As a Kitchen Cook, you will play a crucial role in food preparation and presentation, ensuring that all dishes meet our standards of quality and taste.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items in accordance with recipes and standards set by the Head Chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, always adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Operate a variety of kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food.
- Manage food inventory and storage, ensuring freshness and reducing waste.
- Continuously learn and apply new cooking techniques and kitchen practices.
- Handle, prepare, and cook food with care, maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene.
- Experience as a cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment, or a relevant culinary qualification.
- Basic understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- A valid food handler's certificate or the willingness to obtain one upon hire.
