All applicants for this exciting role should have similarly aligned values.DescriptionThe Head of Finance role will lead on the following-Finance Operations- Managing all accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, fixed asset management, payroll, general ledger and preparation of monthly management reports and commentary.Managing all the Club's cashflows including debtors, creditors, borrowings, staff payroll and cash investments. Ensure that tight controls are in place for control of all the Club's cash funds.Developing and implementing Capital Expenditure programsPreparing and presenting timely and accurate monthly financial results to the Board, including P&L, current year Cash Flow and a long-term Cash Flow Forecast.Leading the risk assessment processes and embedding a risk management culture throughout the organisation.Preparing and presenting monthly Risk and OHS reports to the BoardPreparing year-end financial results, including liaising with the auditors and completing the Annual Financial Report for distribution to the board and all members.Develop and manage the budgeting process involving department managers where appropriatePreparing and finalising the financial and Foundation components of the Club's Annual ReportResponsibility for the human resources function including employment contracts, payroll, salary review administration, superannuation obligations and all HR policies.Working with department leaders to identify financial efficiencies and develop new initiatives.Exercising regular internal audit processes over departmental activities and implementing timely reviews and corrective actions with management to achieve budgeted profitability. Administration ResponsibilitiesBeing the OH&S committee meetings Chair, Workers Compensation representative responsible for claims handling and Return to Work Coordinator and completing the Annual Reconciliation.Presenting reports at and minuting Foundation Trustee meetings.Overseeing all information systems and ensure effective use is made of these systems to improve operational efficiencies and quality of information provided by these systems.ProfileThe Head of Finance candidate will need to meet the following criteria-CPA/CA qualifiedExtensive hands-on experience in an autonomous role in a small to medium business, including full finance management responsibilityAbility to generate high level excel reportsAdvanced report writing skillsPrevious experience working and reporting to a Board or Finance and Risk CommitteeStrong interpersonal and personal skills, including exceptional verbal communication skillsJob OfferThe Head of Finance candidate will be paid a generous salary which includes a bonus (based on performance), and other wider club benefits.Based on the nature of the role this position requires to be on site 5 days per week, however flexible working hours are available.
