HEAD GOLF COURSE IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN Dave White Golf Course | Casa Grande, Arizona Ovation Management LLC is looking for a *Head Golf Course Irrigation Technician* to take the lead in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the irrigation systems that keep our course healthy, playable, and looking its best. As the Head Irrigation Technician, you will play an important role in the day-to-day success of the golf course by ensuring our irrigation system operates efficiently and reliably. You’ll work closely with the golf course maintenance team to identify irrigation needs, troubleshoot problems, perform repairs, and help ensure the course receives the right amount of water in the right place at the right time. What You’ll Do · Serve as the primary technician responsible for the golf course irrigation system. · Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot irrigation systems and controls. · Diagnose and repair irrigation valves, sprinkler heads, pumps, controllers, wiring, pipes, and related components. · Perform routine inspections to identify leaks, damaged equipment, clogged or malfunctioning sprinkler heads, electrical issues, and other irrigation problems. · Make irrigation repairs and adjustments to maintain appropriate water coverage and distribution. · Assist with irrigation scheduling and adjustments based on weather, seasonal conditions, turf needs, and course conditions. · Monitor irrigation performance and identify opportunities to improve water efficiency. · Maintain accurate records of irrigation repairs, maintenance, and equipment issues. · Assist with installation, modification, and expansion of irrigation systems as needed. · Work with the golf course maintenance team to coordinate irrigation activities with mowing, fertilization, aeration, chemical applications, and other maintenance operations. · Maintain irrigation tools, equipment, parts, and supplies. · Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. · Follow established safety procedures and applicable regulations. · Assist with general golf course maintenance activities when irrigation responsibilities permit. · Respond to irrigation emergencies and system failures that may require early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday work. · Perform other duties as assigned. What We’re Looking ForPreferred Qualifications · Previous irrigation experience in a golf course, sports turf, or similar environment. · Experience with computerized irrigation control systems. · Experience with golf course irrigation systems and water management. · Knowledge of turfgrass irrigation requirements. · Experience with irrigation pumps and pump stations. · Basic electrical troubleshooting experience. · Previous golf course maintenance experience. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This is an active, outdoor position requiring the ability to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme Arizona heat. The position may require: · Standing and walking for extended periods. · Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing. · Lifting and carrying equipment, tools, pipes, irrigation components, and other materials. · Working around water, electrical systems, machinery, fertilizers, pesticides, and other golf course maintenance products. · Working in wet, muddy, dusty, or uneven terrain. · Operating maintenance vehicles and equipment. · Working early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, or other non-traditional hours when necessary to address irrigation needs or emergencies. Compensation *$18.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.* The starting wage will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant irrigation experience, technical skills, knowledge, and qualifications.
