ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head Golf Professional reports directly to the Director of Golf and serves as the primary operational leader of the Chileno Bay Golf operation.
This position oversees daily golf operations, member and guest service, talent leadership and development, tournaments and member events, the caddie program, valet operations, golf instruction and programming, retail coordination, and operational planning.
We are looking for a highly visible, hands-on leader committed to delivering exceptional experiences for members and guests while creating a positive, accountable, and collaborative team environment.

This position oversees daily golf operations, member and guest service, talent leadership and development, tournaments and member events, the caddie program, valet operations, golf instruction and programming, retail coordination, and operational planning.
We are looking for a highly visible, hands-on leader committed to delivering exceptional experiences for members and guests while creating a positive, accountable, and collaborative team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and oversee daily golf operations, ensuring the highest standards of service, efficiency, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Golf Professionals, caddies, and other operational talents.
- Ensure an exceptional and personalized golf experience for members and guests.
- Plan, organize, and execute member tournaments, member-guest events, special events, golf clinics, and other golf activities.
- Lead the management and continued development of the caddie program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance.
- Work closely with the Valet Supervisor to ensure a seamless arrival and departure experience for members and guests.
- Support golf instruction, programming, and opportunities that encourage member participation and engagement.
- Coordinate with Retail Operations to support Golf Shop performance and the overall member experience.
- Participate in annual budgeting, forecasting, expense management, operational reporting, and financial performance analysis.
- Work collaboratively with Golf Maintenance, Resort Operations, Food & Beverage, Events, Retail, and other departments to ensure seamless execution and service.
- Identify opportunities to continuously improve operational efficiency, service standards, and the overall golf experience.
- Support long-term operational planning while maintaining strong execution of daily priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience within the golf industry.
- Previous experience as a Head Golf Professional, Lead Assistant Golf Professional, or similar leadership position within a private club, luxury resort, or high-level golf operation.
- PGA Professional with Level 2 of the PGA Professional Development Program completed or in progress, PGA or LPGA Professional, CMAA certification, or equivalent relevant professional experience and credentials.
- Strong understanding of private club, resort, or luxury golf operations.
- Experience with tournaments, member events, golf instruction, member relations, and team leadership.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and operational reporting.

- Service-driven and member-focused mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong golf knowledge and ability to confidently interact with experienced golfers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent judgment and ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant business systems.
- Ability and willingness to be visible, accessible, and actively involved in daily operations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate Club vehicles as required.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, tournaments, extended hours, and other peak operational periods as required.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish.
- Experience with Golf Genius or similar tournament management software.
- Experience with Whoosh Tee Time Management software.
- Experience with golf instruction and programming.
- Previous experience in a luxury private club or resort environment.
- Experience mentoring and developing Golf Professionals and operational talents.
