Position: Golf Head Coach (SY 26-27) (Stipend)

Department: Athletics

Reports to: Director of Athletics

Affiliation: Unit A, Section F

Salary range: $4,812 -$5,820 stipend

Time Commitment:
  • Six days a week
  • Twenty to twenty-five hours a week
  • three matches a week
  • Season length- 8/24/2026 – 11/7/2026
Number of Positions: 1

SUMMARY:

The Watertown Public Schools seeks an outstanding head coach to coach the golf team for the 2025-2026 school year. WPS is dedicated to excellence, equity, and community. Be a part of creating a bright future for WPS students.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Planning all areas of their team
  • Leading and assisting their coaching staff in coordinating efforts under one program goal and ensuring compliance with rules at all levels.
  • Analyze game strategy.
  • Implementation of skill development.
  • Coverage on bus trips.
  • Video analysis of matches.
  • Statistical analysis of matches.
  • Attend all league and local, district, and state meetings when necessary.
  • Reaching out to local youth groups to promote their respective sports in town.
  • Planning award ceremonies and individual award winners.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • CPR certified
  • NFHS concussion course completed


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience coaching golf
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
