Role – Fulltime Golf Course Groundsman



About us

City Golf Club is a par 70 championship golf course located in the beautiful town of Toowoomba. The course is a true test of golf with undulating bent greens, manicured kikuyu fairways and heavily tree lined fairways. The course experiences over 50,000 rounds per annum with a mixture of members competition, social play and various corporate and social golf groups.

The Clubhouse is a 5 star hospitality venue with large gaming facilities, function rooms, clubhouse bistro, cafes and various bars.

The Club also has a 4.5 star 46 room motel and driving range and mini golf facilities.

We are currently seeking a qualified Greenkeeper/Grounds person to join the team to fill a fulltime role at the club. Reporting to the Course Superintendent your daily tasks and responsibilities will involve:

Tasks & responsibilities
  • Maintenance of all turf areas on course inclusive of greens, tees, surrounds, bunkers, fairways, rough and out-of-play areas
  • Course setup
  • Safely apply chemicals when required
  • Irrigation maintenance
  • Follow and implement all safe workplace practices
Qualifications & experience
  • Must hold a current driver’s license
  • Trade qualification including chemical application certificate (Cert 3 in Turf Management or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience in all aspects of course maintenance
  • Competency with a range of machinery
  • Experience and knowledge of chemicals and fertilisers
  • Be hard working and physically fit for manual work
  • Experience in turf irrigation systems will also be highly regarded.
