About New Mexico Military Institute:NMMI is a state-supported, co-educational college preparatory high school and junior college, complete with Junior and Senior ROTC programs. With a Corps of Cadets numbering up to 1,000 young men and women, NMMI provides an accredited college preparatory curriculum on the high school level and is currently developing a new middle school.
Position Under general supervision, the Grounds Technician – Golf Course provides manual work in maintaining the Golf Course. This is a non-exempt, 12-month, full-time position. The salary for this position is $31,200.00 ($15.00 per hour). The job description is available upon request.
Tasks:
· Assist in preparation for golf tournaments and clean up afterward.
· Maintain lawns by mowing, trimming, edging, and watering.
· Operate power equipment such as mowers, edgers, trimmers, tractors, forklifts, and light trucks associated with grounds care.
· Maintain all equipment that this position is qualified to use.
· Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
· Should be well-organized and able to work independently without close supervision.
· Ability to possess a valid state driver’s license.
· Ability to obtain Defensive Driving Certificate through NMMI Facilities Department.
· Visual ability, corrected, to observe and detect signs of dangerous obstacles at a distance of thirty yards and to verify written information at a close range.
· Some overtime is required, and vacation approval may be limited during peak activity periods.
Qualifications:
Required:
· High school diploma.
· Three (3) years of experience in the care and maintenance of grounds.
