You may be an experienced all-round greenkeeper or bring particular strength in irrigation, spraying, mechanics, construction or turf health.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and present the course for daily play, including mowing, bunker preparation, course set-up and changing hole locations
- Maintain greens, tees, fairways, roughs and landscaped areas to the required standard
- Monitor irrigation performance, adjust sprinklers and assist with repairs and fault finding
- Undertake pest and weed control activities under the direction of the Superintendent and leadership team
- Contribute to renovations, turfing, landscaping, construction and other course improvement projects
- Operate and care for modern golf course machinery and equipment safely
- Maintain clear records and communicate relevant course, task and safety information
- Support and guide less experienced team members as your leadership responsibilities develop
- Bring forward practical ideas that improve quality, safety or efficiency
- At least two years of practical experience in turf management or golf course maintenance
- A greenkeeping qualification is highly regarded, although relevant turf or trade experience will also be considered
- Sound knowledge of turf care, irrigation systems and equipment operation
- Strong attention to detail and pride in course presentation
- The ability to work independently and contribute positively within a team
- Good communication skills and a willingness to share information and support others
- An understanding of golf and how course set-up and conditioning influence play
- The physical capacity to undertake manual work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Availability for early starts, the rotating Saturday morning shift and occasional public holiday requirements
- Skills that would be an advantage: Queensland Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control accreditation, strong mechanical knowledge relevant to golf course machinery, experience in irrigation, chemical application, construction or golf course projects, experience supervising, training or mentoring other staff
