THE ROLE
Since its inception, Hylands Golf Club has matured into a top-quality golf facility that offers a full range of services and amenities to its 1200 members and their guests. A true jewel among Canadian Forces golf facilities, Hylands continues to host numerous regional, national and international events. As part of CFMWS, our mandate is to provide affordable golf to our local military personnel and their families.
If you enjoy the outdoors and want to work in a first-class golf course setting with a dynamic team, Hylands Golf Club is the perfect place to work. As an integral part of the ground's maintenance department, as an equipment operator, you will be trained to operate powered and manual equipment such as tractor, front-end loader, backhoe, fairway mowers, rough mowers, tractor powered chipper, seeder, rototiller, out-front rotary mower, triplex green powers and attachments and triplex verti-cutter in order to maintain all playing surfaces on a 36-hole golf course. You will haul materials and supplies, and ensure flags, putting cups, ball washers, tee towels and bunker rakes are in proper working condition.
As the golf course worker, you will also be responsible for basic horticultural duties such as planting and pruning trees, shrubs and flowers, creating and maintaining flowerbeds, laying sod and applying water. QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
AND
Valid driver’s license class G (Ontario) or equivalent
Experience
In operating tools and equipment required for maintenance
In landscaping or grounds maintenance
In operating specialized equipment
Knowledge
Of grounds keeping practices and techniques
Of plant care and turf-grass maintenance practices
Of the rules and strategies of the game of golf, an asset
Of health and safety practices
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English or French Essential, Bilingual an asset

Oral: Functional

- Seasonal Part Time
- The anticipated season of this position is: April - November
- Hours of Work: 13 1/3 to 27 hours per week
- Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg)
- Hourly rate $17.84 - $19.45/hour
