GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The 5 City of Lexington Golf Courses host a large number of tournaments and events throughout the golf season including the Lexington City Championships, Play Golf Lex Am Tour, and the Play Golf Lex Junior Tour. The Golf Tournament Operations Assistant will aid the Tournament Operations Golf Professional with executing the planning, organizing, and implementation of successful golf tournaments and events. This role involves coordinating various aspects, from logistics and participant registration to on-site operations. The Golf Tournament Operations Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for participants while meeting organizational goals and objectives.
The Golf Tournament Operations Assistant plays a key role in creating memorable and well-executed golf tournaments, contributing to the overall success and reputation of the organization within the golfing community.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be possess a valid driver’s license
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Assist the Golf Tournament Operations Golf Professional with the following;
· Event Planning and Coordination:
Varying Schedule based on Dates of Scheduled Tournaments
Most events are on weekends (City Tournaments and Play Golf Lex Am Tour)
Weekdays for tournament set up (entire season) and Junior Tour Events (April – July)

- Plan and coordinate all aspects of golf tournaments, including logistics, scheduling, and participant registration.
- Participant Services:
- Oversee participant registration, check-in, and on-site services during the tournament.
- Address participant inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
- Marketing and Promotion:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote tournaments through various channels.
- Develop promotional materials and campaigns to attract participants and sponsors.
- Course Logistics:
- Work closely with the golf course management team to coordinate logistics, including tee time scheduling, course setup, and signage.
- Ensure compliance with golf industry rules and regulations.
- Scorekeeping and Results:
- Oversee the accurate recording of scores and timely communication of results.
- Coordinate with scoring officials and manage the dissemination of results to participants and the media.
- Technology Utilization:
- Implement and manage tournament-related software and technology for participant registration, scoring, and communication.
- Post-Event Evaluation:
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of each tournament.
- Gather feedback from participants, sponsors, and volunteers to identify areas for improvement.
