*Golf Course Irrigation Technician* *Sun City Roseville (27 Hole Facility | Timber Creek and Sierra Pines Golf Courses)* *About the Position* We are seeking a dependable and skilled *Golf Course Irrigation Technician* to join our maintenance team at Sun City Roseville. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving the irrigation system that supports the golf course, practice areas, and surrounding landscape. The ideal candidate has hands-on irrigation experience, and spot watering skills. Takes pride in maintaining high-quality playing conditions, and is comfortable working outdoors in a physically demanding environment. Moisture management in various soils, and microclimates is key to success. *Key Responsibilities* * Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair the golf course irrigation system. * Troubleshoot irrigation controllers, valves, pumps, wiring, sensors, sprinkler heads, and related components. * Perform routine inspections to identify leaks, damaged equipment, clogged heads, and other system issues. * Program and adjust irrigation controllers and watering schedules. * Make sprinkler head, nozzle, valve, and pipe repairs as needed. * Assist with pump station and water management system maintenance. * Monitor irrigation coverage and make adjustments to promote healthy turf while always being focused on playability. * Maintain accurate records of irrigation repairs, maintenance, and system changes. * Assist with seasonal startup, shutdown, and winterization of irrigation systems. * Drain line clean outs, repairs and new installations. Keep drains clear of debris to ensure quality playing conditions. * Operate hand tools, power tools, utility vehicles, and other maintenance equipment safely. * Work closely with the golf course superintendents and maintenance team on irrigation and turf-management needs. * Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area. * Perform all other golf course maintenance duties as needed. *Qualifications* * Previous irrigation, landscaping, golf course, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical experience preferred. * Knowledge of irrigation systems, valves, pumps, controllers, and electrical components is a must. Rain Bird and Toro hardware, with Rain Bird central control. * Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems. * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. * Ability to lift equipment and materials and perform physically demanding work. * Valid driver's license required. * Irrigation or turf-management certifications are a plus, but not required.
