Galt Country Club is a privately-owned golf course is Cambridge, Ontario. It is an 18-hole golf course with practice facilities and was originally built in 1906 as a Stanly Thompson design. The golf course hosts scenic views of Cambridge and the Grand River and hosts daily play, tournaments, weddings and other events.
Our mission at Galt Country Club is to provide a superior member experience, by providing high quality conditions on a consistent basis, property wide. It is also our mission to deliver this through safe means, while providing a fair, inclusive, and positive experience for all employees, members and visitors of the club.
Who We’re Looking For
Our turf management team is seeking an individual who has interest in building the skills and gaining the knowledge required to be successful in the golf industry. We’re looking for someone to join us in our goal of improving the golf course and the golfing experience. As a team we are seeking to improve in our efforts of daily assessment and decision making, execution of technical golf course practices, and leading by examples of positive attitude, quality work, and strong work ethic. Successful candidates will work as a motivated individual independently, and a positive and effective communicator in a team leadership role.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work alongside, carry out instruction, and report to the Superintendent and Associate Superintendent, and responsibilities include:
We offer a high level of flexibility in scheduling including; hours per week, days off, etc.
Access to golfing privileges under direction from the Golf Shop
Dues covered for licenses, memberships, and education at the discretion of the Superintendent.
Full-time salaried position with benefits based on experience
Salaried positions are entitled to:
- Employee Health Insurance Plan
- 3 weeks vacation
- Subsidized meal benefit
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $750.00-$850.00 per week

Responsibilities

- Develop proficiencies with all equipment including their safe operation, and technical operation to complete tasks with high quality and efficiency.
- Daily golf course setup efforts with a focus on a positive, customer-based approach.
- Application of fertilizer and pesticide applications including calibration of equipment.
- Daily use of the irrigation system including; hand-watering, maintenance, and repair.
- Instruction, training, and monitoring of employees in the safe use and operation of equipment.
- Supervise and lead weekend crews.
- Serve as the Associate Superintendent in his/her absence.
- Golf course maintenance experience or enrolled in a turf management program or related field.
- Must be able to operate a variety of golf course equipment and know how to complete a variety of common golf course practices at a high level.
- Valid Exterminators license or willingness to obtain one
- Knowledge of the safe use, mixing, and application of commercial products is an asset
- Knowledge and experience in the use, maintenance, and operation of golf course irrigation is an asset.
