The Golf Superintendent is responsible of the maintenance operation and management of the golf course and Maintenance facility.
Education & Experience
- 4 year college degree preferred High school graduate or equivalent a must.
- Certified GCSAA Member with all updated licenses.
- At least 2-4 years experience as a Head golf Course Superintendent working at a Resort or Private club. Requires knowledge of Turf Grass Management practices in a southern climate; working knowledge of golf facility construction principles, practices methods;
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- A thorough understanding of marking the golf course for normal play and club tournaments.
- Willing to work rotating shifts-weekends-holidays. Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Basic understanding of mechanic repairs and overseeing mechanic operation.
- Must be able to use a computer for communication, Purchase Order Requisitions, and other uses as needed.
- Must have exemplary leadership skills to motivate the team, organizational skills, and goal setting.
- Ability to focus attention on maintenance details.
- Able to lift/carry approximately 50 pounds.
- Able to work long hours.
- This job requires working in adverse weather conditions.
