About the role
Copperclub is seeking a qualified and motivated Golf Course Superintendent to take responsibility for the overall maintenance, presentation and development of the golf course and surrounding grounds. Reporting to the Board, you will lead the course maintenance team, and ensure the course is maintained to high standards, within approved budgets and with a focus on environmental sustainability and continuous improvement.

About the role
Copperclub is seeking a qualified and motivated Golf Course Superintendent to take responsibility for the overall maintenance, presentation and development of the golf course and surrounding grounds. Reporting to the Board, you will lead the course maintenance team, and ensure the course is maintained to high standards, within approved budgets and with a focus on environmental sustainability and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
Oversee the daily maintenance, presentation and agronomic health of the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, bunkers and surrounding grounds.
Develop and implement maintenance programs covering turf management, irrigation, fertilisation, weed and pest control, and course presentation.
Manage irrigation, drainage, water usage and environmental sustainability practices.
Lead, supervise and develop the course maintenance team, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.
Manage course maintenance budgets, purchasing, suppliers, contractors and course resources.
Oversee the operation, servicing, maintenance and replacement planning of golf course machinery and equipment.
Plan and supervise course improvement, renovation and construction projects in consultation with the Board.
Maintain accurate operational records and ensure compliance with WHS, chemical handling and relevant environmental requirements.
Provide regular updates to the Board and contribute to the Club's long-term course development plans.
A relevant qualification in Turf Management, Horticulture, Sports Turf Management or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in golf course or turf management, with sound knowledge of agronomy, turf maintenance and course presentation.
Experience of irrigation, water management, machinery maintenance and sustainable course practices.
Ability to lead a team, coordinating daily operations and maintaining a safe, positive workplace.
Knowledge of WHS, chemical management and environmental compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the Board, staff, members and contractors.
A proactive, hands-on approach and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement and the future of Copperclub.
A current driver's licence and relevant chemical handling and application qualifications, or the ability to obtain them as necessary.
