Paradise Valley is a very busy 18-hole executive golf course in Medicine Hat, AB. It is a privately owned family-run business which first opened in 1982. We generally open to the public in mid-March, and close October 31, but operate a year-round Toptracer driving range and full-service restaurant as well.
We are hiring a Grounds Superintendent to work with our team, beginning mid-February 2024. Reporting to the General Manager, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities:
-Practice and enforce all aspects of Paradise Valley’s Maintenance and Health & Safety Policies
-Assess the daily condition of the golf course and respond accordingly
-Oversee the care and maintenance of the greens, fairways, roughs and landscaping
-Monitor the appearance and playing conditions of the golf course and address any issues with turf quality
-Responsible for seasonal start-up and shutdown of site grounds
-Manage the training and supervision of grounds and maintenance staff
-Maintain buildings, equipment, and property as needed
-Manage pesticide and fertilizer management practices
-Be able to calibrate, apply, and record fertilizer and pesticides.
-Have working knowledge of irrigation systems, controls, and repairs
-Maintain a clean and organized work area
-Build a positive team who respects the course, equipment, staff and customers
-Other duties as assigned by management
