Golf superintendent (Full Time) - , AUSTRALIA

GolfJobs

Well-known member
The Katherine Country club | Australia
Expires: April 6, 2025

Katherine Country Club NT has one of the “Best” Golf courses in the Territory and our current Superintendent is moving on to bigger and better things and will be a hard act to follow.

The successful applicant “Must” be willing to put their Heart and Soul into the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of our course. This entails long hours in very hot conditions out on the course mowing, spraying and undertaking all the activities required in maintaining a Premier 9-hole Golf Course. You will have a team of three (3) with one a fully qualified Mechanic to assist you in the daily activities of the role.

The successful applicant would require some kind of knowledge of golf irrigation (Toro Lynx) and spraying.

A massive part of keeping our golf course greens healthy is being able to identify certain pests/diseases before they get out of control. You will need to be dedicated in sticking to a proper spraying program especially with fungicides as this time of year you can easily lose some of the greens to disease.

This often requires early morning starts 4-5am and sometimes coming in to spray in the evening after people have finished playing. Shane Carman is the Clubs contact from Living Turf and he will do soil tests for us occasionally and alter our greens program accordingly with products that we are needing to correct certain deficiencies. It is imperative that this program is continued, and these products are applied to the greens.

The Toro Lynx irrigation software is a complex system that takes a lot of time to go through each individual head out on the field and input all the data into the system correctly. Having someone with some kind of knowledge of the system to carry that from our current Superintendent on would be a huge advantage. Living Turf and Rain Bird can assist the successful applicant.

This is a relocation role, with an above Award Salary on offer for the right candidate along with subsidised housing assistance, and relocation costs can be discussed.

Must have current Driver's License and own vehicle. (There is a company Ute for the successful applicant to use)

Must have appropriate experience, knowledge and qualifications (or prepared to get them) in Horticulture and or Golf Course Management. Work well in a team environment, able to liaise with the Golf Club Management and Golf Committee.
