Job Description
[*]Full time working supervisor managing up to 4 full-time and 3 part-time employees during the Active Season; reduced days/hour in the off-season. [*]Opening/closing and season-long care and maintenance of the golf course including fairways, greens, cart paths, tee boxes, markers, plants, shrubs, trees, environmental zones and water sources on the facility grounds. [*]Manage irrigation system and water usage for both tennis and golf. [*]Opening/closing and routine/daily maintenance of tennis courts and surrounding areas. [*]Opening/closing and maintenance/repair of clubhouse and ancillary buildings. [*]Maintain all common areas, parking lots, plantings. [*]Maintain and repair all machinery and equipment. [*]Assist in the oversight of construction of the new maintenance building. [*]Manage expenses in alignment with Club policies and participate in annual budgeting process. [*]Communicate regularly with management on activities, goals, plans, and member input. [*]Off-season work to include tree work, equipment maintenance, blade sharpening, building maintenance and upkeep, maintenance of cart paths, etc.
Qualifications
[*]Minimum of 2 - 5 years as golf course superintendent or first assistant superintendent. Turf-maintenance degree preferred, but not required. [*]Comprehensive knowledge of turf management, including fertilization, pesticide and irrigation systems and protocols. [*]Functional carpentry and mechanical skills. [*]Computer skills required for budgeting, financial reporting and operations control. [*]Valid CT driver’s license. [*]Pesticide license (or application for CT license). [*]High School Degree. 2 year degree/certificate in turf management (or related field) preferred.
Compensation
[*]$65k - $85k depending on experience and qualifications. [*]Paid time off. [*]Year-end bonus. [*]Access to 401K. [*]Staff Meal program. [*]Dues paid for GCSAA. [*]Continuing education. [*]Golf and Tennis privileges.
