Golf Course Superintendent

Situated at the top of the Blue Mountains and an easy 2 hour drive from Sydney, Blackheath Golf and Community Club is the stand out golf course on the Blue Mountains known for its aesthetically pleasing mature tree lined lush Fairways and magnificent Autumn colours. An extensive course development program is underway.

The Golf Club is seeking a Course Superintendent to manage all aspects of the golf course and surrounds, including clubhouse gardens and landscaped areas with the expectation of presenting the facilities in exceptional condition.

The course superintendent will have responsibility for overall course management including the implementation of the golf course management and maintenance program to ensure the environmentally sustainable continuous improvement of the course.

The applicant will be qualified and knowledgeable and be able to demonstrate the ability to lead a team, have successful project management skills and a proven track record of working with committees and management.

Desired Attributes

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:
  • Qualification-Minimum Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.
  • Certified in Chemical Storage, Handling and Application.
  • Industry Accreditation as a Certified Sports Turf Manager (CSTM) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in Managing, Maintaining and Operating Irrigation Systems.
  • Understanding of WHS provisions.
  • Experience in Environmental Management Practises.
  • Financial Management Budgeting Experience.
Skills and Abilities

The desired applicant will possess the following skills and abilities:
  • Experience in developing plans and strategies for the continual improvement of course operations, playing surfaces, resource allocations and personnel.
  • Experience with a variety of turf equipment and machinery.
  • Prior experience in managing course improvement projects, liaising with contractors and growing in new work.
  • The ability to prepare and present course reports.
  • Prior experience in effectively communicating with club members and guests.
We are willing to pay up to $150k based on experience.
