JOB SUMMARY:
Perform a variety of tasks in the golf pro shop.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform starting tasks including: checking in players, taking payment for green
fees, getting
players to the first tee as scheduled and keeping starting times on track.
2. Perform merchandising tasks including, placing new items out for display. Ring
up items sold,
process returns and assist with questions or information requests.
3. Member services tasks include answer phones, make tee time reservations,
monitor driving range,
ring up purchases, answer questions, place special orders and follow up when
received.
4. Tournament play duties include preparing pairing sheet of players, cart tags,
score cards and all the
preparation for the day.
5. Offer assistance with knowledge of golf play and golf equipment.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. May assist with Outside Services when needed.
2. Other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Above average
computer skills
including Word, Excel, Internet, email and in-house programs. Basic knowledge of
golf equipment.
Able to operate office machines including copier, fax and postage meter equipment.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBIITIES: None
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Able to stand for long periods of time in a variety of conditions. Inside in a
temperature controlled
building and outside exposure to wind, rain, cold and extreme heat and humidity.
Able to kneel, stoop,
bend, push, pull, lift, carry and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 6 months previous retail sales or customer service experience.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
1. Assist residents and guests with their questions, needs and issues.
2. Timely completion of tasks and assignments.
3. Work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions,
changes, and delays.
Remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such
circumstances.
4. Proven and effective customer service skills. Must be able to deal with the public.
5. Patience to deal with clientele of over the age 55.
6. Accomplish daily tasks by organizing and prioritizing.
NORMAL WORKING HOURS and DAYS:
Part-time. Days/hours will vary based by season including weekday, evenings,
weekends and holidays. Required 10-minute rest and 30-minute meal break;
overtime as required.
Compensation:
$16.90 - $22 hourly 401k+match, golf benefits, and more.
