SUMMARY: The Golf Shop Senior Attendant must always provide excellent customer service while performing all daily operations in the golf shop, assist the Manager and/or Supervisor with specific tasks, and assist customers with any questions or concerns.

Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma or GED equivalent AND proven customer service and merchandising experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of:
A valid New Mexico State Driver’s License is required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s Permit, or obtain permit within 30 days of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed at or on golf course and in course facilities; requires constant physical efforts; safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment

- Provide excellent customer service, consistently
- Follow all daily opening and closing procedures for the pro shop and golf course
- Set-up/confirm that the pro shop and golf services are ready for customers (golf carts, driving range, rental equipment, snack bar, etc.)
- Perform/assist with all daily operations, including collection of fees, sales of merchandise, golf cart rentals, driving range operations, rotating stock, simple golf cart maintenance, etc.)
- Properly enter/check-in all customers into the Point of Sale (POS) system
- Make reservations (tee times, tournament sign-ups, lessons, classes, etc.) in person and on the phone
- Answer phone calls and assist customers with any questions or concerns
- Assist with league play, tournaments, clinics, or any other event at the facility
- Keep all areas of the pro shop clean and organized
- Supervise and help the outside services staff as needed
- Perform other duties and responsibilities
- Supports the relationship between the City of Roswell and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information; perform other duties as required or assigned.
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma or GED equivalent AND proven customer service and merchandising experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of:
- City and Department policies and procedures.
- Computers (POS) and counting money.
- Principles and practices of effective leadership, supervision and training.
- All Golf Operations.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Assessing, prioritizing, and completing multiple tasks and demands simultaneously.
A valid New Mexico State Driver’s License is required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s Permit, or obtain permit within 30 days of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed at or on golf course and in course facilities; requires constant physical efforts; safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to pass a rigid background investigation including work history, criminal records, driving records, and other records deemed necessary.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen administered by a City-designated facility.
- Must pass a pre-employment limited physical given by a City-designated physician.
