The Restaurant Manager - Golf Operations works with the General Manager of Restaurant, Food and Beverage - Golf (“General Manager”) to develop, manage, implement, administer, and evaluate comprehensive concession programs assigned at Cleveland Metroparks golf facilities. The incumbent meets sales goals by enhancing revenue, reducing costs and providing the public with high quality restaurant, concession, and event services.Essential Functions:Effectively supervises assigned employees, including the following: Interviews, selects and trains employees; Coaches employees in proper job performance techniques and procedures; Directs work of employees and sets/adjusts hours of work; Maintains records on employee productivity and appraises employees’ productivity and efficiency to recommend promotions or other changes in status; Handles employee complaints and disciplines employees when necessary; Apportions work among different employees; Monitors or implements legal compliance measures; Determines the type of materials, supplies, or tools to be used by employees and controls the flow and distribution of materials and supplies; and Provides for the safety of employees and the property of Cleveland Metroparks.Regular and predictable attendance is expected and required
All Cleveland Metroparks employees must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required.Works under the direction of the General Manager to manage, coordinate, implement, administer, and evaluate innovative and comprehensive concession, restaurant, and event services and recreational programs at assigned facilities within Golf Operations.Assists in the supervision of Golf Operation concession and recreation operations and personnel, including but not limited to, responsibility for the following: Big Met Golf Course clubhouse concession and Big Met Terrace; Sleepy Hollow Golf Course clubhouse concession and The Valley View Rooms at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course; Shawnee Hills Golf Course clubhouse concession and events; Seneca Golf Course clubhouse concession and events; Big Met, Sleepy Hollow, Shawnee Hills, and Seneca golf courses beverage cart operations; Little Met Golf Course clubhouse concession and events; Mastick Woods Golf Course clubhouse concession and events; Washington Golf Course clubhouse concession and events; Snow shoe and cross country ski concession at golf courses; Golf outing catering; Special event catering; and other events as assigned.Evaluates facilities and program effectiveness and makes recommendations to the General Manager, Chef, Clubhouse Supervisors, Golf Professionals, Golf Course Managers, Executive Director of Golf, CEO, and managers, directors and chiefs from other departments.Assists in managing special recreation activities as needed.Coordinates, trains, and implements all policies and programs necessary to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations pertaining to health, food service, food service safety, recreation, and amusement.Maintains an effective working relationship with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health and the City of Cleveland Department of Public Health.Prepares and assigns daily and weekly work schedules in light of public interest, revenue production, vendors and special events.Executes weekly communications through ordering products and goods with all third party vendors to ensure establishments are stocked and supplied for restaurant and event service.Coordinates and supervises the collection of fees, including preparing daily records of receipts in accordance with Cleveland Metroparks revenue-handling policies and procedures.Maintains, analyzes, and submits pertinent records and data reports on daily revenue, accidents and first aid incidents to appropriate Cleveland Metroparks staff.Increases the effectiveness of the concession and events initiatives, functions, and operations by advancing strategies, projects, relationships, and priorities to produce desired results.Assists in concession inventory, including completing a weekly spot audit and monthly complete inventory.Travels to assigned locations on a daily basis to supervise operations.Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public
Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.Updates and enhances own knowledge by involvement in continuing education for professional growth (i.e., attends relevant conferences, seminars, in-service trainings, and certification programs)Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
