Community Summary Indian Lake Estates (ILE) is a large, planned rural residential and commercial gated community with more than 7500 acres and 700 residences. The community includes fishing, boating, golfing and country club activities along with postal, church, dining, pier, and lake front facilities. The Corporation employs a staff in the Office, Restaurant, Pro Shop, Golf course and Roads & Grounds maintenance. Social events, Library, and cultural activities are voluntarily run and managed by Community volunteers. These volunteers contribute to the enjoyment of life in our Community. We have well-established Clubs and Groups and there is always room for new ones! Volunteers also make up the Board of Directors and the various Committees that guide the professional staff and oversee the workings of the Corporation. Everything from Finance Committee to Beautification is managed by committees who make recommendations to the Board in its policy-making role. Board Members and community members work together in these committees which meet at least once a month. We are located approximately 15 miles east of Frostproof, FL and 17 miles south-east of Lake Wales, FL, at the intersection of SR 60 and CR 630, close to the southeastern tip of Polk County. The Cape Kennedy Spaceport is 55 miles to our east. Orlando, with its internationally renowned family focused Disney World, is 45 miles to our north-east. The crystal white beaches of Florida’s gulf coast and Tampa Bay are an hour drive due west. We are the very heart of “Central Florida” far from its maddening crowds but close to the best of everything. Role Summary The Onsite Golf Course Groundskeeper position entails a variety of responsibilities on different areas of assigned Association. The Golf Groundskeeper requirements are to ensure that the Community is well maintained and clean. To work as a member of the maintenance department in achieving the high maintenance standards established for the common areas of the Association. Onsite Golf Ground Keeper will participate in routine trash removal, cleaning, painting, minor repairs, planted areas weed removal, watering, planting, irrigation repairs, walkways and golf course and common areas maintenance. As well as all other duties that may be required from time to time by their immediate Supervisor, Manager or BOD. Responsibilities Responsible for keeping the golf course and common areas around the buildings, walkway, parking lot areas, roadways, areas around the pool, medians, around the exterior perimeter of the community and any other common areas impeccable always Remove litter, garbage, and debris Remove landscaping debris from all golf course and common areas Remove graffiti from stop signs and other signs as well from electrical and cable boxes. Report damaged and missing signs Remove debris from around, in between and under all golf course and common area’s hedges Blow with blower all sidewalks and streets as needed Pressure cleaning of all entrances and walkways Painting of all golf course and common area curbing’s, planters, bulletin boards, fences, walls, monuments signs, fire hydrants, street signs posts, light posts, street strips and speed bumps Must work to insure all inventory items are in good working condition Must ensure securing and emptying of trash dumpster and area around dumpster. Must work cooperatively with other staff members Will follow the staff attire guidelines detailed in the manual Complete all work-orders assigned by Management and or BOD Turn in a weekly maintenance report to Maintenance supervisor Report any maintenance issues to Maintenance supervisor and or Property Manager Report any dead trees on golf course and common areas to Maintenance supervisor and or Property Manager Ensure that all traffic signs are visible and clear of hanging branches Insure that there are no trip hazards through the roadways, walkways, and all golf course and common areas, and Buildings stairs Report all maintenance emergencies and accidents immediately to the Maintenance supervisor and or Property Manager Any and all maintenance emergency repairs must be completed prior to going to lunch or going home at the end of the work day Come to work as scheduled on time and ready to work Disclaimer This description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach frequently. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance. Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely. Visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, and perform detailed tasks. Hearing ability to detect alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions in noisy environments. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, outdoors). Ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, on-call, and overtime as required.
