The Greenskeeper performs semi-skilled work in the maintenance, care, and modification of Association golf courses which includes the operation of electrically powered and gasoline-powered groundskeeping equipment and machines, and the use of small hand and power tools or equipment in planting, cultivating, and trimming the greens and surrounding landscape.
Essential Functions
- Assist with preparing the course for daily play.
- Rake the bunkers.
- Cut and trim golf course greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
- Assist with watering the roughs.
- Applies growth enhancers and disease inhibitors to greens and tees.
- Grades and prepares base, lays sod, and seeds greens, tees, and fairways.
- Participates in daily setup for play.
- Excavates and backfills ditches and trenches with hand tools.
- Cuts weeds and brush and performs tree trimming duties.
- Maintains the cleanliness of all golf course equipment.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials used for the golf course.
- Performs specialized tasks during adverse weather conditions and closures.
- Maintains a safe work environment and performs all duties in a safe manner. Observes and adhere to all safety rules. Reports all safety violations to management.
- Reliable and consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
- Remains competent and current by reading professional journals and literature, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as appropriate.

- Walk about on foot to accomplish tasks;

- Engage in repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers;
- Apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palm; and
- Occasionally lift a minimum of 50 pounds of weight, and over 100 pounds on an occasional basis.

- Talk to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word;
- Perceive the nature of oral communications at normal speaking levels, with or without correction;

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year experience working on a golf course.
- Physical, mental, emotional stamina to work outdoors.
