Royal Fremantle Golf Club (RFGC), located just 25 minutes from the Perth CBD and 5 minutes from Fremantle, is one of Western Australia’s premier sporting clubs. Boasting a championship golf course and outstanding member facilities, the Club is one of the oldest golf Clubs in WA, formed some 120 years ago. Since its formation the Club and has hosted numerous State and National Amateur golf events, and recently the inaugural WEBEX Players Series Perth, which we will continue to host for the next two years.
RFGC seeks to appoint an experienced and motivated person to join the team as a Golf Operations Supervisor. Working predominantly in the Golf Shop, the Golf Operations Supervisor, and the Golf Operations Team are the welcoming face of the Club for members and guests alike. The role will see the successful candidate oversee daily operations of the shop, boasting over 1300 members, with competitions running 6 days of the week, we are a busy Club!
Reporting to the Golf Operations Manager, this person will support the Golf Operations Manager in all aspects of the delivery of golf services to members, visitors and guests. This role will be ideally suited to someone who wishes to progress a career in the golf industry, in a rewarding and welcoming Club environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Greet members and guests providing excellent customer service
- Monitor pace of play, calling the field and ensure that golfers adhere to course rules and etiquette
- Maintain the Golf Shop to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation
- Coordinate and manage the use of golf carts, ensuring they are available for rental and properly cleaned and charged for next day use
- Administers the Rules of Golf and the Clubs By Laws; educate staff; promote and provide assistance to members
- Provides leadership and direction for all golf shop staff ensuring exceptional service standards
- Implement operational procedures as prepared by senior management, aligning to the clubs’ rules and objectives
- Ensure accurate processing of sales, implementing cash management procedures as designed by senior management
- Supervise the upkeep and cleanliness of golf operations equipment and facilities, including the organisation of the back-of-house areas.
- Facilitate accurate reservations and booking systems, enforcing Member and visitor entitlements and reporting visitor play accordingly
- Competition management, tee management and marshalling as required
- Assisting in the coordination of and delivery of major events and visiting corporate days as directed by senior management
In order to fulfill the essential duties of the role the key competencies applicants will possess are:
- Previous experience working within a Golf Course
- Competent and experienced in utilisation of MiClub software, including tee sheet and competition management.
- Knowledge of the etiquette and rules of golf.
- Strong attention to detail with an improvement mindset
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
In addition to the key competencies listed above, applicants who possess the following qualifications and experience will be highly regarded:
- Experience with NorthStar software
- Previous experience in a supervisor level position
