Lang Lang Golf Club stands proudly as the premier golfing destination in the South Gippsland region, located 30 minutes from Cranbourne. Known for its beautifully presented course built on sand-belt, the 18‑hole George Naismith designed layout has earned its reputation. The Club continues to grow not only in reputation but in memberships and investment in both the course and clubhouse. The Club will be opening its new practice range and short game area facilities later in the Spring that will provide opportunities for lessons and growing participation.
About the role
Lang Lang Golf Club is seeking an experienced Golf Operations Manager to join our team on a full-time basis at the Club. This is a hands-on senior position and reporting to the General Manager, sits at the heart of the Golf Club operations, responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily golf course and clubhouse management. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our Members and Visitors enjoy a memorable experience whilst maintaining the highest standards of customer service and safety. This role offers the opportunity to lead a small, dedicated team and drive operational excellence. Weekend work is expected and required and forms part of the regular working hours of the role.
Key responsibilities
The Golf Operations Manager is a dynamic hands-on role and will provide support to a range of day-to-day golf operations tasks, including but not limited to:
· Oversee all day-to-day golf course operations, including timesheet and competition management, social golf groups and golf events and provide customer service
· Manage and supervise the Clubhouse team, providing leadership, training, and performance management
· Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards that align with the Club's values and industry best practices
· Manage budgets, financial forecasting and complete financial tasks for golf operations, including maintenance costs, equipment, and capital expenditure
· Oversee maintenance and ordering of golf equipment, cart fleet, and facilities, including coordinating repairs and upgrades
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and club policies
· Manage member relations and respond to operational concerns, ensuring high levels of member satisfaction and retention
· Monitor course conditions, weather impacts, and environmental sustainability practices, implementing improvements as needed
· Prepare regular reports and operational updates for the General Manager
· Assist with Membership Management of New and Existing Members
· Assist with any ad hoc tasks as directed by the General Manager
· Assume acting GM responsibilities in the absence of the General Manager
What we're looking for
· Golf industry experience in a senior golf operations role or similar
· PGA Member or PGA Qualifications would be highly regarded but not essential
· A strong understanding of Golf and the Rules of Golf
· Proficiency with Golf Club Software – MiClub and MiMembership and computer literacy (preferred)
· Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
· Strategic thinking and experience in growing golf operations and participation
· Demonstrated experience in team leadership, staff management and capacity to work independently
· Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines
· Sound financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with Members, Staff, and Committee
· Understanding of OH&S within the workplace
· Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
