Settlers Run Golf and Country Club, located in Botanic Ridge, Victoria is seeking a suitably experienced full-time Director of Golf with a positive attitude, attention to detail and a drive to achieve positive results and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service to our large membership base.
About Settlers Run Golf and Country Club.
Settlers Run features an 18-hole superb golf course, full-service golf shop that supports all golfers from beginners to the professional, bar and bistro, pool, spa and sauna and well-equipped gym. The club welcomes members, guests and the public to experience the culinary delights on offer, from sandwiches to pub classics in the Bistro, to a la carte modern Australian cuisine in the renowned VUE Restaurant.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing. A strong work ethic and enthusiastic attitude are equally important. You will have strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build rapport with your staff as well as members and guests.
Your role will involve:
Reporting to the Club’s General Manager, the Director of Golf will work at a strategic level to manage the Club’s Golf department efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and provide an excellent level of customer service that exceeds member and guest expectations. In addition to this, your duties will include but are not limited to:
We are looking for:
• PGA Professional accreditation will be essential.
• Excellent people management skills and a passion for leading and mentoring staff.
• Ability to implement and follow club procedures.
• Flexibility in work hours, weekend work is essential to this role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outgoing personality with a positive attitude towards your work.
• Golf Knowledge is essential to this role. In particular scoring, handicapping and solid rules knowledge.
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
• A high level of understanding with MiClub and MPower.

- Issuing of competition timesheets and finalising of all competitions.
- Liaising with members on issues relative to daily competitions, club championships and major golfing events.
- Management of our Golf Shop staff and rosters.
- Enhancing our growing Ladies and Junior coaching and participation program.
- Promoting Corporate golf days and golf day management to ensure a successful event.
- Development and implementation of merchandising and sales plans.
- Overseeing the daily operations of the golf shop business including supplier and contract management.
- Add value to the Club through strategic planning to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Golf Stock Management, working to set COG’s and KPI’s.
- Auditing of all external sales, corporate golf sales and stock.
