The Club

The National is a world class, private golf club, providing unique member experiences on four golf courses across two sites at Cape Schanck and Long Island.

The Role

The National Golf Club is looking to engage a part-time Course Ranger to join our friendly and dedicated team. Reporting to the Golf Manager and the Golf Operations Manager, working with our highly motivated golf team, making a positive contribution to the Club.

The primary responsibility of the Golf Ranger is overseeing the operations of the golf course.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrolling the courses and driving range, ensuring members and guests follow the course rules and regulations
  • Monitoring golfers during play, upholding course rules and play etiquette while maintaining the proper timeline of tee-offs.
  • Representing The Club by providing exceptional customer service, and answering questions
  • Maintain continual communication with golf shop staff regarding status of players, course, and any other factors that may affect the smooth operations or satisfaction of members and their guests and to receive any directives from staff on areas that require attention
  • Be prepared for inclement weather (air horn, rain gear, etc), understand bad weather procedures and communicate with golf shop during weather alerts as necessary
About You

The successful candidate will have the following skills and background :
  • Strong understanding of golf rules, etiquette and terminology
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour
  • Ability to manage time effectively and ensure that tee times and pace of play are adhered to
  • Capable of handling conflicts and issues with tack and professionalism
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays and varying shifts as needed
