The Golf Merchandising Manager is responsible for the ownership of product development - concept through commercialization
This includes partnering with design on product creation and development efforts,and working closely with planning/merchandise on product buy and financial strategy and working cross functionally to ensure customer satisfaction as well as creating working relationships with partners to ensure customer satisfaction
This Merchant position supports the development of the merchandise strategy for their area and consolidates feedback from markets while gathering and researching global trends to incorporate into the strategy
**Responsibilities:**
• Partner with design to develop scorecards and create seasonal golf assortment annually (Mens, Womens and kids) for all VV omni channels.
• Work closely with the planning and sales department to ensure key investments and styles are being purchased for each business sector
In conjunction with sales, the merchant is responsible for booking and forecasting styles for each business
• In partnership with PD/Design, aim to hit seasonal IMU targets by category for each classification by gender.
• Ownership of a category including analyzing weekly sales reports, highlighting product voids and opportunities In season and future planning.
• Partner with sales teams to educate on the product architecture and details - provide tools to be more effective on the sales front.
• Responsible for knowing our customer, market trends, product performance, competitive landscape with other brands and providing line input to design team and merch partners
• Build reporting to capture and analyze sku productivity within retail, DTC and wholesale sell-thru for each product category.
• Creates style boards detailing styles, color, season, delivery dates, and other product details in order to effectively communicate necessary information to cross-functional teams and external accounts
• Partner with PD/Design to develop modernized, innovative, performance product across all business segments to be competitive in the space.
• Maintains effective internal relationships by using professional communication and efficient processes
• Stays abreast of industry fashion trends and competitor activity through weekly market research, competitive shopping, and analysis
• Work closely with design to target IMUs and drive profitable sales in each product category through each omni channel
• In partnership with sales and marketing, work with our brand ambassadors, athletes and talent in regards to scripting and highlighting strategic initiatives on product front
**Role Requirements:**
• 5-8 years of Merchandising or related experience required
• Working with PD and Planning is a MUST
• Sports/ Athletic Merchandise experience
• Bachelors degree required
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comprehensive understanding of retail math*
• Team-oriented with ability to interact with partners across the organization at all levels
• Systems/technology-savvy*
• Must have strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, vLook Ups, etc.)
• Strong listening, written and oral communication skills required
• Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy required
• Excellent product sensibility and ability to merchandise assortments in an appealing way- with a expertise in Golf or activewear
• Ability to react quickly with a strong sense of urgency*
• Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
• Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
• Additional experience including combination of Buying, Planning, Product Development, CAD Design, Production Services, Overseas Sourcing, Logistics, and Marketing experiences
• Ability to innovate and challenge current norms to drive positive change and efficacy
• Experience in customer and trend direction to inform both assortment strategy, and decision making
