The Part-Time Cart Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing carts and related equipment to ensure they are safe, reliable, and ready for daily operation. The position requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. The position reports to the Outside Services Manager. Major Responsibilities: · Diagnose, repair, and maintain golf carts. · Perform routine preventive maintenance and safety inspections. · Troubleshoot electrical systems, including batteries, chargers, motors, controllers, wiring, switches, and lighting. · Repair and replace brakes, tires, suspension, steering components, belts, cables, and other mechanical parts. · Test batteries, charging systems, motors, and electrical components. · Perform battery maintenance and replacement. · Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine appropriate repairs. · Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards. · Test-drive golf carts following repairs to verify proper operation and safety. · Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts, and services performed. · Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. · Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. · Perform other related duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities: § Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. § Experience with electric and/or gas-powered golf carts. § Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, electrical meters, and diagnostic equipment. § Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams and service manuals. § Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability. § Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. § Must have the ability to multi-task. § Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. § Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and work in various positions for extended periods. § Ability to lift and move golf cart components, batteries, tires, and other equipment. § Ability to safely operate shop equipment and tools. § Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Education/Training/Certificates/Licenses: § Must be attending High School, hold or High School diploma or equivalent. § Club car certification § Valid drivers license Working Conditions: This position works in a maintenance/shop environment and may require outdoor work. Employees are expected to follow all company safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
