Bobby Jones Golf Club, located in Sarasota, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Part-Time Golf Cart Mechanic! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. General Purpose: Ensures that all golf carts are kept in top working order by providing timely service and establishing a sound preventative maintenance program. Essential Duties: Establishes and follows a sound preventative maintenance program to ensure long battery and cart life. Keeps carts clean by washing, scrubbing and dusting dirt from carts regularly. Trains all guest services associates in the proper care, maintenance and charging of carts. Assists guest services associates with maintaining the appearance of the cart staging area, the podium and bag drop area, the cart storage and wash down areas. Prepares golf carts for play following the standards of Troon Golf. Orders parts and supplies as necessary and performs routine repairs on golf operation vehicles such as carts, ranger carts, and beverage carts. Assists guests with questions and general facility information. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as required. Education/Experience: Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience. Experience with troubleshooting electrical systems and small engines on golf carts or utility carts would be preferred. Other trade experience would be accepted. Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Occasionally sits, climbs or balances. Regularly talks or hears. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally may lift up to100 pounds. Environment/Noise: Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); with toxic or caustic materials; in extreme cold or heat (non-weather); may experience vibration. Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may face the risk of electrical shock or encounter fumes or airborne pathogens. Frequently works in areas near moving mechanical parts. Noise level is loud. Part-time, 3 days /wk (weekdays), 6am-2pm. Certificates/Licenses: Valid Driver’s License. Mechanics Certificate from Gas and Diesel Engine Training Seminar. Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences: Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English). Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
