About Us:

Ranfurlie Golf Club is home to an acclaimed 18-hole course designed by Mike Clayton, featuring wide fairways, strategic bunkering and distinctive green complexes.

We strive to maintain a consistently high standard across the course, and technology is a big part of how we do it. From autonomous mowing to digital maintenance and parts management, we are embracing a new age of turf maintenance and are always looking for smarter ways to work. This is an opportunity to join a progressive team and look after the machinery and technology that keep the course at its best.
The Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Golf Course Mechanic to manage our workshop and preventative maintenance program.
Reporting to the Course Superintendent, you will maintain the Club's turf machinery, vehicles, electric equipment and battery-powered tools, ensuring they remain safe, reliable and performing at their best. You will work closely with the course team to support daily operations.

We are flexible on hours – this role can be full-time or part-time, and we are happy to discuss an arrangement that suits the right person.
Alongside the hands-on mechanical work, you will manage machines, parts and service records in our in-house software, and use online communication tools to stay across issues raised by the course team as they come in.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and repair: Service, diagnose and repair turf machinery, vehicles and battery-powered equipment
  • Equipment performance: Set up and adjust cutting units to achieve a consistently high quality of cut
  • Parts and workshop management: Manage preventative maintenance, parts, consumables and service records in our in-house workshop software
  • Safety and records: Maintain a safe, organised and compliant workshop
  • Team communication: Keep across machinery issues raised by the team through our online communication tools, prioritise repairs and keep everyone updated
  • Course operations: Support daily course operations and the trial and rollout of new equipment and technology
About You:
  • Relevant mechanical trade qualification (or equivalent) and proven, hands-on experience as a mechanic working on turf, agricultural, automotive or plant equipment
  • Comfortable with technology and genuinely open to new ways of working – including maintenance and parts software, and online communication tools
  • Previous experience as a golf course mechanic is highly desirable
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skills
  • Experience maintaining turf equipment from manufacturers such as Toro, John Deere or Kubota
  • Experience maintaining electric utility vehicles and battery-powered tools
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
  • Current Australian driver's licence and Australia working rights
What we offer:
  • Stable employment with a competitive package – full-time or part-time, with flexible hours to suit
  • Supportive and professional team environment
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • Free daily lunch provided on-site
  • Early starts with one shorter day per week
How to apply:

If you are an experienced mechanic and a practical problem-solver who takes pride in keeping machinery performing at its best and enjoys working with new technology, we would like to hear from you.

Please note: This role requires an experienced mechanic. It is not suitable for apprentices or those new to the trade.
