Golf Course Mechanic / Equipment Technician
Description:
Long Meadow Golf Club is a member owned, private 9 hole club located in Lowell
Massachusetts. Long Meadow was established in 1909 and designed by Alexander Findley.
As Head Mechanic, you would be working directly under the superintendent, assisting with the day-to-day maintenance and repair of all golf course related equipment.
Such duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist in training proper equipment use and safety protocols
- Ensures all cutting units are properly maintained and adjusted on a daily basis
- Performs mower grinding/sharpening/backlapping as needed
- Maintains a preventative maintenance program on all equipment including but not limited to: oil changes, greasing, filter inspections, hydraulic system inspection
- Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical issues in all types of golf course maintenance equipment including hydraulic systems, electrical systems, gasoline engines and diesel engines
- Places orders for parts and supplies as needed for equipment and tracks expenses and inventories for budget purposes
- Performs fabrication and welding as needed
- Ensures accurate records of preventative maintenance, repairs made, and parts ordered are kept
- Aids in daily operation such as mowing, blowing and special projects on the course as needed
- Ability to perform the necessary physical parts of the job. example lifting, kneeling
