Golf Course Mechanic
Saratoga Golf and Polo Club is a 9-hole private golf course located in the heart of Saratoga Springs,
NY. The grounds department is looking for a motivated team player to fill the position of Golf
Course Mechanic. The Mechanic reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all equipment for the golf course.
Experience in golf course equipment maintenance preferred, but not required for the right candidate.
Duties: -Repair all equipment and vehicles not operating as designed (gas, diesel, hydraulic, electric).
-Provide the best quality of cut on all equipment throughout the mowing season.
-Ordering and stocking of all parts.
-Keep accurate records for all equipment.
-Rebuilding and sharpening all cutting units.
-Help with properly training staff in safe operation of equipment
-Assist with everyday operations/mowing as needed.
-Work with Golf Course Superintendent and assistants on equipment conditions to establish repair or replacement needs.
-Basic computer skills
-Assist with snow removal as needed.
The equipment fleet is majority Toro, with a large portion that is currently in its first year of a five year lease. The maintenance building was recently renovated, a second building will be finished in
Spring of ’24.
