Toowoomba Golf Club is looking for a Mechanic, who is a team player, motivated, skillful and loves what they do.

Responsibilities

The Golf Course Mechanic reports to the Golf Course Superintendent and/or the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
This program includes:
  • Keeping machines adjusted and ready for work including height of cut and sharpness.
  • Making sure machines are serviced as per equipment manufacturers recommendations.
  • Proactive in troubleshooting and solving breakdowns and issues.
  • Keeping records of equipment service history.
  • Placing orders for materials required to carry out repairs and servicing.
  • Properly communicating any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the Superintendent and/or the Assistant Superintendent.
  • The equipment mechanic places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building.
Additional Information
  • 38 hour week, but open to flexible part time hours
  • 4 weeks annual leave
  • If you have a mechanical background and have never worked on a golf course, we can train you on the golf equipment maintenance practices.
  • 5.30am start, finish at 2pm weekdays and 10am on Wednesday
  • Some weekend work is possible, 4 hours in the morning
Job requirements
  • Basic understanding of diesel and petrol engine maintenance trouble shooting and repair.
  • Set up equipment for the days work.
  • Some basic understanding of auto electrics would be a plus but not essential.
  • Possess a high attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
  • Ability to move, lift heavy objects.
  • Be able to carry out jobs on the golf course as required , these would include but not limited to , rough mowing, brush cutting, raking bunkers etc
