Role
A Golf Course Mechanic (or Equipment Technician) is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a fleet of specialized equipment.
This includes reel and rotary mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and golf carts. They ensure machinery is safe, sharp, and operational for daily turf management.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited too:
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and execute a strict preventative maintenance schedule (oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements) to minimize equipment downtime.
- Diagnostics & Repair: Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on both gasoline and diesel engines.
- Reel Grinding & Mower Setup: Sharpen mower blades, perform reel grinding, and adjust cutting units to precise heights according to the Golf Superintendent’s exact standards.
- Parts & Inventory Management: Oversee the shop parts inventory, track repair costs, and maintain accurate service records using specialized computer systems.
- Welding & Fabrication: Perform light welding, metal fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized shop and ensure all repairs meet OSHA and environmental safety regulations.

Qualifications
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others
- Proven experience in diesel and small engine repair, hydraulics, and auto or turf equipment mechanics
- Strong diagnostic abilities, welding capability, and basic computer proficiency to manage maintenance logs
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequently bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions and shop environments
- Ability to work a flexible schedule through the week
