About the Role
Waterford Valley Golf Course is seeking a skilled and motivated Golf Course Mechanic to join our dedicated turf management team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a modern workshop environment and maintain a diverse fleet of high-quality turf equipment (Toro and John Deere) that keeps our championship 18-hole facility in top condition.
Reporting to the Course Superintendent, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and performance of all course machinery, ensuring our equipment is safe, reliable, and operating at peak efficiency.

Reporting to the Course Superintendent, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and performance of all course machinery, ensuring our equipment is safe, reliable, and operating at peak efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Service, maintain, and repair a wide range of turf maintenance machinery including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, and small engines (2-stroke and 4-stroke).
Perform diagnostics and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance and ensure equipment is ready for operation.
Assist with mower set-ups, height-of-cut adjustments, and quality-of-cut inspections.
Maintain accurate service records and inventory of parts, oils, and filters.
Source and order parts and liaise with suppliers where required.
Ensure the workshop area is kept clean, organised, and compliant with all WHS standards.
Work collaboratively with the Course Superintendent and turf team to support daily course operations.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong mechanical aptitude, and enjoys working in a team environment.
Essential Criteria
Trade qualification in Automotive, Diesel Fitting, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience).
Proven experience in machinery maintenance — ideally with turf and agricultural
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail with a commitment to preventative maintenance.
Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
Current driver’s licence (required).
Previous experience working in a golf course or turf industry environment.
Welding, fabrication, experience highly regarded.
Understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and cutting-unit systems.
Work in a picturesque golf course setting with a supportive, professional team.
Full-time position, but would consider Part-time workers with flexibility
